This is a story as old as America itself — one rooted in our quest for excellence and guided by our unconquerable spirit of innovation. Here, whenever the status quo stops moving us forward, an army of innovators stands ready to take the reins.

Startups like Uber and Airbnb revolutionized the way we travel. Digital pioneers like Google and Apple brought all of mankind’s knowledge to our fingertips. And companies like Netflix and Hulu ushered in new ways to watch TV.

In this country, history rewards the ground-breakers, risk-takers, and change-makers whose bold ideas deliver more and better options to the American people.

So in an era that lets you find a dog walker and order 3 a.m. food delivery from the palm of your hand, it seems unthinkable to limit ourselves to a pair of archaic political parties that increasingly value “winning” above all else.

MAY THE BEST MAN IDEA WIN (?)

Eventually, when a new idea gains enough traction, the establishment responds by improving itself — oh…wait, no. Just kidding.

The system, in business and in politics, treats most challengers the same way. It’s a predictable script that you may have heard before: First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

If you’ve ever told someone you were thinking about voting for a so-called “third-party” candidate (lol remember this guy?) you might have been met with some kind of belittling giggle or condescending criticism: Haha! They’ll never win. You can throw away your vote if you want but it will just help win! You’ll spoil the election!

Meanwhile, party bosses in Washington, D.C., flood the airwaves (and your Facebook feed) with apocalyptic visions of a future American hellscape that will absolutely positively become reality if their candidate doesn’t win. And behind the scenes (like, way behind) they deploy a vast network of political “fixers” who gerrymander and restrict ballot access to lock out any competition.

Sorry, what?

If history teaches us anything, it’s that large organizations clinging to power at all costs — especially through corrupt tactics and backroom deals — ultimately lose it all. That’s true in business. That’s true in technology. And that’s what’s coming next in the world of political parties.

STATUS: ACTION REQUIRED

Americans have never sat back and accepted something we didn’t like without putting up a fight. That’s not who we are as a nation. But that seems to be precisely what we’re doing with modern politics — and nearly one in two Americans say it’s time to try something new.

At SAM, we’re bringing the same disruptive, innovative desire for change to the political arena. And we’re not talking about some half-baked “third-party” approach. Hell no. We’re talking about a major new party in every single state in America — one that’s big enough, loud enough, and bold enough to win.

But the more we threaten the establishment’s grip on power, the more they try to shut us down. They’ve developed an intricate web of insurance policies and an arsenal of smear tactics to silence their critics and scare independent thinkers back into partisan submission. Don’t let them.

As Americans, we should demand the best system in the world: one where there’s more competition for your vote. Where the system is transparent enough to trust. And where good ideas win on their merit and bad ideas aren’t propped up by dark money and fat cat deals.

We’ve always defied the odds. Exceeded the expectations. And we’ve never settled for “just good enough.” So ignore the people saying this can’t be done, because all it takes is a little doing.

Monster Maps: Why Your Vote Doesn’t Count

We’ve all either said it or heard it: “My vote doesn’t count.” The bad news is, for a majority of voters, that’s not far from the truth — especially when it comes to congressional races like the midterms coming up this November. The good news is, there are solutions.

SAM is building a new political party for a new majority. Our goal is to break the self-interested stranglehold of the two entrenched parties and give back power and voice over our future, and our country, to the people.
