“Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose.”
Lyndon B Johnson, 36th President of the United States
SAM was founded in the aftermath of the 2016 election by a group of concerned, but determined, everyday Americans who believe that the American Political system is broken. The two parties have given us division, gridlock, and little progress. We are forging a new path.
Our political parties are playing a zero-sum game.
And we’re all losing because of it.
The current Leadership has:
Now more than ever, America is hungry for a new option
Approval for Independents tops both parties.

85% of Americans feel today’s political leaders are more interested in protecting their power and privilege than doing what’s right for the American people.

Independence from the party line, from the special interests that control both major political parties through campaign cash, and from extremists who control each party’s primary process—that’s what this country needs to move forward.
– Greg Orman, author, the Declaration of Independents
Hiding in plain sight is the fact that America’s majority is politically homeless in this equation. We need a broader movement of citizens, rooted in our best history and most inclusive traditions to re-center our politics and civic debates.

It’s becoming clear that the need for a third party outweighs even the very real barriers. There has to be a party that unapologetically emphasizes public character formation… a party that insists on basic standards of decency in its candidates; that practices politics in humble, honest ways; that strengthens trust and institutions by playing by the rules…

This is why we exist
SAM is building a new political party for a new american majority
For those who feel disenfranchised and abandoned by the Republican and Democratic parties and are looking for a better, more inclusive path forward.
The time has never been better for a new path for the common American.
We can't do this alone
SAM is building a new political party for a new American majority. One where fairness, integrity, and common sense solutions work together to achieve real progress for Americans.
Aside from a few members on staff on a day-to-day basis to keep SAM’s mission moving forward, we are entirely driven by passionate volunteers giving their time out of their own volition.
We depend on people like you to keep our movement alive. Whether it be by becoming a member or a SAM Leader, or by monetary donation, any contribution along our path is hugely appreciated.
SAM, the Serve America Movement, announces its support and endorsement for Proposal 2, Michigan’s Voters Not Politicians redistricting reform measure that will appear on this November’s General Election ballot.
Even though two out of every five Americans feels this way, our elected leadership hardly represents this reality.
We’ve all either said it or heard it: “My vote doesn’t count.” The bad news is, for a majority of voters, that’s not far from the truth — especially when it comes to congressional races like the midterms coming up this November. The good news is, there are solutions.
SAM candidate Stephanie Miner is taking a stand against the broken, two-party system perpetuating our politically corrupt culture.
There are more things wrong with our politics than we could list in a blog post (honestly, more like 100 blog posts). But one of them seems to be a constant source of annoyance for everyone — no matter who you do or don’t vote for.
SAM is building a new political party for a new majority. Our goal is to break the self-interested stranglehold of the two entrenched parties and give back power and voice over our future, and our country, to the people.
We can’t do it without you.
